Greetings to our Beading Friends

March is National Craft Month and with there being some signs of spring, if you look and listen hard enough, it is a great month to try something you have been putting off. A new technique or a new colour palette can give inspiration. Take a cue from Dee Hick: “Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it”. Maybe just tidying up your creative space and organizing things a bit differently will spur new ideas.

We gave a talk to the Ottawa Bead Society last month on ways to get out of a creative rut. This prompted us to look at some of the books collected over the years and we thought we would share the list. As there will still be some days this month that will encourage indoor activity, maybe one of them will stimulate new ideas.

  • The Beader’s Guide to Jewelry Design by Margie Deeb
