Our 2017 fall show schedule begins with 4 stops in Ontario this month.

If there are items that you would like us to bring, make sure to let us know well in advance so we can load them into the van. There are so many new products that have arrived and we look forward to showing them to you.

Classes and Workshops

Saturday September 9th - 9:30-12pm - $45
Wire Bending and Chain Necklace - Using sterling silver wire, learn to bend and wrap segments of beads and attach them to chain. You will also learn to make a pair of earrings.
 
 
Saturday September 9th - 1:30-4pm - $40
Wire wrapped pendant - Learn to create a cage with a bail using square wire and twisted wire. Great for attaching to a chain or cord. This is an excellent technique for creating jewellery out of minerals or flat stones.
 
 
Wednesday September 13th - 1:30-3:30pm - $35
Tree of life pendant - Create a unique tree pendant with Artistic Wire and gemstone chips.
 
 
Wednesday September 20th - 1:30-4pm - $35
Peyote 101 - Using Czech seed beads in 3 colours, create a bracelet using the even count peyote stitch. Tubular peyote will also be shown.
 
 
Saturday September 23rd - 9:30-12pm - $45
Knotted Necklace - Learn the traditional technique of pearl knotting using silk thread, bead tips and gemstone beads.
 
 
Saturday September 23rd - 1:30-4pm - $45
Knotting with French wire - Advance your knotting skills using silk thread, French wire and gemstone beads. This is a different finishing technique than presented in the Knotted Necklace class.
 
 
Saturday September 30th - 9:30-12pm - $50
Wire Crochet - Using 26g Artistic Wire and an assortment of beads to create a chunky bracelet.
 

 
Kirsty Naray, a talented instructor from Ajax, will be here in the fall teaching a few classes.
 
Saturday September 30th - 1:30 to 4pm - $50

Cellini Spiral - Using 3 different sizes of seed beads, you will learn to create a spiral pattern which can be used to make a pendant, bracelet or necklace. Once the technique is learned, experiment with different colours of beads to create wonderful twisted pieces.

Sunday October 1st - 10am to 3pm - $75-90
Monday October 2nd - 10am to 3pm - $75-90

Harmony Doll - Learn a new technique! In this class you will be given a shaped doll and stitch beads onto the body with an intuitive appraoch. You can bead the whole doll or just parts of it. You will be shown how to make a doll from scratch for when you want to make more.

$75 - for a small "baby" doll (no arms)
$90 - for a full sized doll (shown in picture below)

DREAMCATCHER WORKSHOP WITH NICK HUARD


Have you ever been intrigued by Dream Catchers? Come and learn how to make one with renowned artist Nick Huard and his apprentice, Watio Splicer, at the same time as learning more about this symbol of Native spirituality. Nick is Mi'kmaq from Restigouche and is now living in Kahnawake, QC. Making dream catchers since the early 1990's, approximately 40 of his art pieces are pictured and discussed in the book "Dream Catchers, Legend, Lore and Artifacts" written by Cath Oberholtzer. We have one copy in the store for anyone to look through.

 

Saturday November 4th - 9am to 12pm OR 1:30pm to 4:30pm
$75 which includes all materials used to make a 9" dreamcatcher with beads, sinew, feathers and willow bark.
Space is limited to 10 people per class.
