Thanksgiving celebrations give one pause to think about all the things for which we can be grateful in a world that some days just seems perplexing and disorderly. Here at Canada Beading, we are grateful for all the wonderful encounters we have had with our customers during the past 9 months: great suggestions, wonderful conversations and simply for your support of a Canadian business.
For the month of October, the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses (CFIB) has a Big Thank you Contest in progress. You could win $1000 plus a goodie box of products from small businesses across Canada if you send a thank you note to your favourite small businesses through the CFIB. There will be a draw every week for five weeks. If your contribution is picked, the small business you nominate wins $2500 . There is no limit on how many small businesses you can name. This time of year also seems to stimulate a new period of creativity. The beautiful fall colours provide inspiration for our creative efforts and with the shorter periods of daylight and crisp fall air, we sometimes welcome the nudge to use the time for our beading projects.
Isn't this a freeing idea? "Creativity is magic. Don't examine it too closely." - Edward Albee. Albee was a playwright but his idea relates to all creative work and seems appropriate for this season. Many of our in store and show customers are speaking of the challenges of preparing for art and craft shows, making gifts for the festive season ahead or considering what fabulous thing they could do with a recent bead purchase. Somtimes thinking too long about an idea can impede progress. If you don't like the result, you usually only lose a bit of time and some thread. Most beads are reusable!
Wishing all of you an inspired October. We look forward to seeing many Montreal area customers at our last show this year - held at the Palais de Congres (details on the Events page).
