Greetings Beading Friends,
Every year summer seems to zip by so quickly! With the fall weather and the changing colours, we are into an exciting new period. These seasonal colour changes can be so inspiring as we do our creative work.
This September will mark the second year we honour the memory of all of those young people who did not survive their time at residential schools as well as those that did. We trust you will understand our decision to be closed on Friday September 30th. We can't change history but we can certainly learn from it and make decisions that hopefully will make the way forward better for all.
You may remember that last year at this time we were supporting Deborah Young in her effort to collect 215 beaded baby moccasin vamps for an installation in the School of Social Work at Carleton University. She ended up having 356 contributions. We saw about half of them at Canada Beading Supply and were thrilled with the effort so many of our customers had put into their pieces. The installation piece will be unveiled on September 30th and we will be posting more information about the event when the details are finalized. Current information can be found on the Community Events page of this newsletter. We will also post a photo or 2 or 3 when the installation is unveiled. Make sure to follow us on Facebook to stay up to date with this project.
Very best wishes for a great September!
Meredith, Brent and Carrie
