Summer Greetings Everyone!

The month of July went by quickly! Carrie and Meredith were pleased to see so many people at the Sudbury Gem and Mineral show in mid July. Carrie and Brent were at Bancroft’s Gemboree last weekend and are looking forward to the forthcoming trip to Parrsboro. With all the work for each show plus the travel and the re-stocking in between, it has been a busy month!

We came across a quote attributed to Buckminster Fuller, a well-known architect, designer and philosopher which applies to our creative endeavours, especially when we are trying new techniques, designs or colour combinations.. “There are a number of important irreversibles to be discovered in our universe. One of them is that every time you make an experiment, you learn more: quite literally you can not learn less.” From a practical standpoint, when we try new directions we should not feel dismayed if the result is not what we anticipated. Rather we learn from it and in many cases our creative talents improve.
