Happy November Beading Friends!
On November 28th, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) is promoting Small Business Saturday. Having a small business for over 42 years, we truly appreciate the support we have received from so many over the years. Owning and running a small business is not for the feint of heart and there have been difficult times. Yet, we feel fortunate that we have a " happy business" and that we have developed some amazing friends over the years. We really enjoy unpacking new shipments as the colours and textures are inspiring. People have a dream and we are usually able to help solve problems if someone is trying to achieve something beyond their traditional approach. Thus the combination of great customers, merchandise and the satisfaction one gets from helping people realize their dream makes all of us happy!
Just so you can appreciate what your support for any Canadian small business does, here are some things the CFIB encourages people to consider. Your dollars make a difference as shopping small keeps more of your spending close to home:
- For every dollar spent at a small business, 66 cents stays in the local economy, compared with just 11 cents at a multinational retailer. That means more of your money stays close to home, supporting local jobs, businesses and communities.
- 9 out of 10 Canadians value having locally owned businesses in their neighbourhood. Small independent businesses offer a unique mix of merchandise compared to chain store who all have the same product mix no matter where they are located.
- Small choices add up - Grab a coffee, enjoy a meal, shop for a gift or choose a local service. Every local purchase counts.
- Discover something different: Unique products. Personal service. Local character. Small businesses offer plent you won't find anywhere else. They have staff to answer your questions.
- Spread the word: if you found a local business worth talking about, recomment it, leave a positive review or give it a shout-out on social media. Word of mouth goes a long way.
All of us thank YOU for supporting our small business! We hope you enjoy a great November.
